LumelaHelp Lumela reach Google Play
Google won't publish a new developer's app until 12 people have run it as testers for 14 days straight. The app is ready — what we need is you, an Android phone, and five minutes.
What you need
An Android phone (not an emulator), the Google account your Play Store uses, and the willingness to keep Lumela installed for 14 consecutive days. Using it on a real trip is a bonus, not a requirement.
Five steps, on the phone
1 · Send us your Gmail
Reply in the chat where you got this link, or email us, with the Google address your phone's Play Store uses. We add it to the tester list by hand — usually within the hour.
2 · Remove the direct-download copy
Only if you installed Lumela from lumela.tours before: uninstall it. Play's build is signed with a different key and won't install on top. Nothing is lost — your trips are in your account.
3 · Become a tester
Open the opt-in page on the phone and tap Become a tester. That tap is the thing Google counts.
4 · Install from Google Play
Tap download it on Google Play on the same page, or search the store a few minutes later. Sign in to Lumela as usual.
5 · Stay 14 days — and tell us things
Keep it installed and keep the tester opt-in. Anything that broke, confused you or is missing — send it our way. Google asks us what testers found; your notes are the answer.
Questions testers ask
Which Google account do I use?
The one your phone's Play Store is signed into. Open the Play Store app, tap your avatar at the top — that's the address. Joining with a different account is the #1 reason a tester doesn't count.
I already have Lumela from lumela.tours — why uninstall it?
Google Play signs its copy with a different key than the direct download, and Android refuses to install one over the other. Uninstall first, then install from Play. Your trips, expenses and documents live in your account — sign in again and everything is there.
Do I have to use it every day?
No. What counts is staying opted in and keeping it installed for 14 consecutive days. Real use helps us a lot though — Google asks what testers found, and your feedback is what we answer with.
Can I leave?
Anytime, from the same opt-in page. Please hold on until we've passed the 14-day mark — a tester who leaves early breaks the count for everyone, and the clock restarts.
Does it cost anything? What does Google see?
Free, no subscription, no card. Google only records that your account opted in to the test — we never see your Google password or anything else on your phone.
I tapped the link and it says I'm not eligible.
Either you haven't joined the tester group yet (step 1), or you're signed into a different Google account in the browser than on your phone. Fix that, wait a minute, and open the link again.
